Course Summary
This event is aimed at giving anyone with an interest in the PRINCE2 project management method a short but thorough introduction to the subject. You may already be working in an environment where projects run but have no formal role within projects. Whatever your situation this course assumes no prior knowledge, or indeed experience, of projects or project management methods.
The course will begin by posing the questions, ‘what is a project?’ and, ‘why do we need to manage them?’. Using a mix of presentations, delegate notes and exercise based interactive sessions the course explores the major elements of the PRINCE2 project management method. More importantly, you will understand how use of PRINCE2 can overcome the difficulties found in projects – answering the question ‘what benefits does PRINCE2 bring to projects?’.
Also covered in the course are key terms used in the discipline of project management and PRINCE2. Having completed the course you will be able to understand the language of PRINCE2 as used by others. You will also take away from the course some practical ‘techniques’ you can apply to your own work whether within a formal project or not.
