Course: PRINCE2 Practitioner

Course Summary

The PRINCE2™ Foundation and Practitioner course will focus on equipping the Delegate with a detailed knowledge of the PRINCE2™ method including the eight processes, eight components and three techniques central to running a project using the PRINCE2™ method. The successful completion of the Foundation & Practitioner Exam will give the Delegate a recognised Practitioner qualification. This course lays a firm grounding for the Delegate to apply the PRINCE2™ method to projects in the work place.

Course Learning Objectives

  • Learn and understand the PRINCE2™ methodology
  • Learn to link the components, processes and techniques to a project scenario
  • Answer any questions or concerns Delegates may have about using PRINCE2™ to run projects
  • Pass the Foundation and Practitioner Exams

The training course combines PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner training sessions, the Practitioner training sessions will follow on from the successful completion of the Foundation exam, building on a delegate’s knowledge of the structure and content of PRINCE2 and turns this knowledge into an understanding of the practical application of the method. Time will be given to assessing risks within the project, planning techniques, and how to ensure a quality approach runs throughout the project.

Introduction

  • Defining a project and the basic components making a up a project
  • Identifying common projects problems and how PRINCE2 can overcome these

PRINCE2 Process Model

  • An overview of the 8 processes which form the foundation of the PRINCE2 method
  • How processes are used in the lifecycle of a project

Components

  • An overview of the 8 components of the PRINCE2 method and how each component supports Project, Risk and Quality Management

Techniques

  • A description of Product Based Planning, Quality Review and also Change Control illustrating their practical use

Exam Preparation

  • Review of exam questions, mapped against key areas of the PRINCE2 manual. There is also an approach mock exam practice marked by the trainer

  • Suggested 15 hours of pre-course preparation
  • 5 day Course
  • 1 hour multiple choice, closed book Foundation exam on the third day, 3 hour open book Practitioner Exam on the 5th day
