ITIL Intermediate (v3)

The ITIL v3 higher level courses are still in development but are due for phased launch between October 2008 and January 2009.

The objective is to provide routes which support ongoing study and achievement whether in process specific or managerial roles.  There are 2 groups of Intermediate courses.

The “Lifecycle Stream” takes each element of the ITIL Service Management lifecycle – Service Strategy; Service Design; Service Transition; Service Operation; Continual Service Improvement.  The “Capability Stream” addresses specific process areas under the headings: Planning, Protection & Optimisation; Service Offerings & Agreement; Release, Control & Validation; Operational Support & Analysis.

Exams

There is a closed book multiple choice exam associated with each Intermediate course.  There are 8 multiple choice, scenario based, gradient scored questions.  Each question has 4 possible answers - earning between 0 and 5 marks.

The exam duration is 90 minutes and the pass mark is 65%.  A minimum of 4 correct answers is required.  A Distinction is awarded to those achieving 75%.
