ITIL Practitioner - Service Continuity

Target Audience

IT management and systems support staff who need to plan and prepare for risks to the disruption of IT services.

The objective of IT Service Continuity is to support the overall Business Continuity Plan during and following any major incidents so that the IT Service and facilities can be recovered within required and agreed timescales.  The "best practice" ITIL processes and skills used on this course will help you do so.

As it is based on the ISEB syllabus and qualification for the "Practitioner Certificate in IT Service Continuity Management you will find that the competencies developed on the course are recognised worldwide.

 

Learning Objectives

Successful delegates will be able to demonstrate their competence in, and their ability to:
  • Plan for the implementation of IT Service Continuity Management
  • Initiate a project to develop an IT Service Continuity Plan
    Undertake requirements analysis, including Business Impact Analysis and Risk Analysis
  • Define IT Service Continuity Strategy
  • Develop and implement an IT Service Continuity Plan
  • Manage IT Service Continuity Operationally as part of ‘Business as Usual’
  • Invoke an IT Service Continuity Plan, enact it during a crisis, and return to normal operations
  • Audit and review the IT Service Continuity Management process
  • Be aware of the support tools and techniques available for the implementation of IT Service Continuity Management and be able to indicate how improvements can be made
  • Prepare IT Service Continuity reports for distribution throughout the organization and monitor and report on the major metrics of the IT Service Continuity Management process
  • Understand the interdependencies between IT Service Continuity Management and other IT Service Management processes.

Pre-Requisites

To be entered for the Practitioner’s examination leading to the certificate, you must be able to demonstrate at least one year’s experience in the Problem Management process and hold the ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management.

Examinations

The ISEB Practitioner Certificate in IT Service Continuity Management examination consists of a closed-book, one hour, case study based, 25 questions multiple-choice paper. This is taken at the end of the course and accounts for 50% of the overall marks. The remaining 50% is derived from an in course assignment. To qualify for the certificate, candidates are required to achieve 50% in each assessment with an overall combined total of 65%.
