ISEB Systems Development Essentials - 3 days

Anyone involved in systems development, including new entrants to IT, anyone moving into an analysis role, systems analysts who want to consolidate their existing skills and user staff involved in an IT project.  

The course encourages a user-centred approach which focuses on providing quality assured solutions which meet the needs of the business.

This practical course provides valuable experience in investigation, requirements gathering, modelling and specification analysis of information, quality assurance and other essential systems analysis techniques.

To provide the skills and techniques required to be an effective and professional systems analyst.

Successful delegates will be able to:

Understand the phases of system development within traditional, iterative, and agile development projects

Investigate a system and analyse the results

Make effective use of different methods of interpersonal communication

Plan and conduct searching and effective interviews

Interpret business requirements and produce system requirements

Quality assure the requirements documentation and develop test cases

Develop, interpret and quality assure process, data and event models of requirements

Assess the impact of Commercial Off The Shelf Packages on their development approach

None, but the course assumes a basic knowledge of computers.

Less experienced delegates should consider the 4 day non residential, or 5 day residential workshop version of this course.

On completion of this course delegates may wish to sit for the ISEB Certificate in Systems Development Essentials. The format is a one hour written, open book exam based on a business scenario with 15 minutes reading time.

This certificate is a core certificate in the ISEB diploma in Systems Development and is also an optional certificate in the ISEB diploma in Business Analysis.
