ISEB Foundation - IT Law

Target Audience

Those without a legal background but who need to understand the basic legal issues associated with data protection and freedom of information. 

This Foundation certificate course helps to ensure candidates understand the complete spectrum of law which applies to IT.

This is a 3 day course but the exam can be taken on the fourth day.

Pre-Requisites

None, though the British Computer Society (BCS) has recently published a book which is recommended reading for this course.

'A Manager's Guide to IT Law' is a practical book that gives managers, without any specialist knowledge of legal matters, an understanding of the law in relation to computers and IT.

Examinations

The examination for the ISEB Foundation Certificate in IT Law can be taken on the fourth day of the course.

The format is a 1 hour, closed book paper consisting of 40 multiple-choice questions.  The examination paper is divided into two sections: candidates must achieve a minimum of 13/20 for each section.  The overall pass mark is 26/40.
