Course Summary

The event aims to develop an understanding of PRINCE2 2009 and its practical application, explaining the flexibility and adaptability of the PRINCE2 2009 method and how it can be employed to achieve business-related objectives.

The course offers a set of excellent management tools for members of staff taking team or project manager roles. Senior Managers’ needs are also addressed by providing the structure for a suitable decision support environment.

There are no pre-requisites for this course but an understanding of project work would be helpful.

Course Outline

There are four main threads:
• PRINCE2 2009 Overview and Introduction: the need for structured project management, why pragmatic and intelligent use of methods is so important and how PRINCE2 2009 can be employed to achieve businessrelated objectives


• PRINCE2 2009 Principles: What are the principles; how do they relate to the other elements of the method?


• The PRINCE2 2009 Method: what PRINCE2 2009 looks like, how the principles; themes; processes, such as planning and control, work on their own as well as together, and how the roles associated with the method can be made really effective


• Tailoring PRINCE2 2009 to the Project Environment: The implementation of PRINCE2 2009 providing sound, practical advice on introducing the method; detailing the differences between tailoring and embedding; what will work for your organisation?
